Milliners Walnut Coster Set

Who knew that a Bible commandment could come in so many colors? When the Apostle Paul declared that women must cover their heads during worship (1 Corinthians 11:15), African American women took his decree, attached feathers and bows to it, and turned it into something beautiful, and the Gents didn't let them have all the style and grace.

This is a tribute to the marvelous Milliners that popularized this amazing accessory and the folks who wore them so well. Like Mae Reeves, born Lula Mae Grant whose clients included celebrities such as Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne, Eartha Kitt and socialites like the DuPonts and the Annenbergs.

These are a walnut base, that are handmade to their specifications. They are all hand done from the cutting to the painting to the staining, the branding, the cutting of the image, the pouring of the resin, heating and curing.  In total they take a week from start to finish.

They are made with love and the thought of how much you'll enjoy them.

With that, please realize that like all handmade items, by nature, have imperfections. Although I am very thorough, there are inconsistencies based on the coasters creative nature. These are are studio produced and our process is genuine and full of love and care. Do you remember the handmade items your grandma used to make? Ours products echo those quaint little handmade differences.
